Turn on some soothing music, pour yourself a glass of cold water, and settle into a relaxing facial that will rejuvenate your skin. Use your favorite natural skin-care products. Before you start, gather all the products and equipment. If your hair isn’t already wrapped in a warm towel, pull your hair away from your face with a hair band.
1. Prepare
Wash your hands. Place a towel over your lap so you can use it to wipe off any excess product. Sitting comfortably with your feet flat on the floor in front of a mirror, pour 3 drops of facial oil into the palm of your hand, rub palms together, and hold over the nose. Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths to relax.
2. Cleanse
Apply a cleanser to your fingertips and massage into the skin with small, circular movements, paying attention to the chin, forehead, and around the nose. Start under the jaw and work up towards the eye area. Remove the cleanser with warm water and a muslin cloth or flannel. Start at the forehead and finish under the jaw.
3. Tone
Apply a cooling toner to 2 cotton wool pads. With a cotton pad in each hand, sweep the toner up over the jaw, across the chin, up your cheeks, and across the forehead. Leave the toner on your skin for a few minutes to evaporate or soak in.
4. Exfoliate
Apply an exfoliating face polish to your fingertips and gently massage it into the skin using small, circular movements. Start with the jaw and finish with the forehead, paying attention to the chin, forehead, and the area around your nose. Avoid the delicate eye area. Remove the exfoliator with warm water and a muslin cloth or flannel. Repeating step 3, remove traces of your exfoliating face polish with toner on 2 cotton pads, sweeping up over the jaw to the forehead.
5. Apply a Mask
Apply a mask to your face with the fingertips or a clean foundation brush, starting with the jaw and moving up to the forehead, leaving the eyes free from product. Leave on according to the manufacturer’s directions (about 10 minutes). In the meantime, apply your eye product
6. Apply Eye Cream
Gently pat an eye cream or gel around the eyes using your ring finger, without getting too close to the eyes. Afterwards, soak 2 cotton wool pads in cold water and place over the eyes. Relax for 5 minutes. Remove the eye pads and replace the cold water with fresh warm water. Relax for another 2 minutes.
7. Rinse
Gently remove all traces of the mask with clean warm water. Swipe a muslin cloth or flannel across the face, avoiding the delicate eye area. Dab gently with a clean towel to dry the skin – it is important that the skin is completely dry before you apply the massage oil. Make sure you thoroughly rinse the mask from the muslin cloth or flannel before you use it again.
8. Massage
- Apply a facial oil to your fingertips. Warm it between the hands and sweep up the face from the jaw, around the eyes, and up over the forehead. Repeat 3 times.
- Using your ring fingers, gently draw spectacles around the eyes, starting from between the eyes and working out towards the ears. Repeat 3 times.
- Gently pinch the eyebrows, starting from between the eyes. Using flat palms and a firm pressure, iron the forehead from brow to hairline.
- Sweep your fingertips up the face from the jaw, around the eyes, and over the forehead. Repeat 3 times. Blot excess oil with a tissue.
9. Rehydrate
Apply a small amount of face cream, starting at the jaw and moving up to the forehead. Drink a large glass of water or a cold infusion to rehydrate and relax.
