If you’ve spent any time at all exploring the world of hair health, this probably isn’t the first you’ve heard of Vegamour.
This vegan, cruelty free hair care brand has garnered some of the most impressive reviews we’ve seen for their hair wine’s products. Just a quick glance at their webpage or Instagram reveals literally thousands of commenters raving about how the brand has transformed their strands.

With so much hype out there, we knew we needed to find out the truth of whether Vegamour was all it’s fans claimed it to be. Here’s what we found out, and the Vegamour products you need to get your hair health on track.


What makes Vegamour different?

Rumor has it that Vegamour’s founder was inspired to start the brand when he realized that conventional hair brands are using ridiculously small amounts of their products' active ingredients in their product formulations. Take a closer look at that tea tree shampoo or argan oil conditioner, and you might be surprised to see how little of that so-called star ingredient they actually contain.

Vegamour does things differently with products that are built around high levels of plant sourced bio active ingredients designed to get the job done. Plus, they’re free of all the bad stuff that bogs down your strands, like moisture stripping sulfates, harsh chemicals, and headache inducing artificial fragrances. The brand also prides themselves on their cruelty free values. All products are vegan and totally free of animal testing, which is always nice to know.

All that sounds good on paper, but what is using them actually like? I decided to find out by putting their most popular products to the test.


My Vegamour Experience

To make sure I gave Vegamoura fair shake, I tried out two of their most popular products: their GRO shampoo and conditioner and their tasty berry flavored biotin gummies.

Let’s start with the shampoo and conditioner. I’ve always been picky when it comes to my wash day products, so I have a high standard when it comes to both these basics. I liked that the shampoo and conditioner matched my ethics, and that they were free of the harsh ingredients and sulfates I try to avoid.

When my set arrived,  I was immediately impressed by the luxurious feel of Vegamour’s matte packaging. The shampoo and conditioner both smelled amazing, and made my hair feel silky soft both during and after the wash. I even noticed a little added glossy sheen to my strands—they suddenly seemed to have so much more personality!

Reading the packaging I saw that the set contained curcumin, red clover, and mung bean, powerful plant based phyto actives designed to help reduce hair shedding and signs of thinness. I felt like they were working. Vegamour’s proprietary Karmatin, a vegan, natural alternative to silicone and keratin, was probably responsible for my new shininess and strand strength.

Next up were the biotin gummies. I had heard that taking biotin supplements could help improve the health and strength of my hair, skin, and fingernail. I had also heard that some people actually said that biotin could lead to the growth of stronger, thicker hair, so I was eager to put these claims to the test. Alongside biotin, Vegamour’s gummies also contain folic acid and vitamins A, B-5, C, E , 6 and 12, which help neutralize follicle-damaging free radicals and support scalp health.

I liked the cute jar the gummies came in, and was immediately impressed by the taste. I had expected them to have a nasty vitamin flavor, but they were tasty—just like the gummy vitamins I used to love when I was a kid. It was easy to make them a part of my everyday routine.

To be honest I couldn't tell you whether the gummies or my new wash day routine was responsible for my new hair glow, but I definitely saw what all the hype was about.  After I made the switch, I noticed that my strands definitely looked thicker and healthier than they had before.


The Takeaway: Is Vegamour worth it?

After experimenting with both my new favorite shampoo and conditioner and my daily biotin gummies, I can definitively say that Vegamour is worth it. I can absolutely understand what all the online hype is about. This is a product that feels great to use, and that you can feel great about using. And even better than that, it made a huge difference in the health and appearance of my strands.

I plan on sticking with Vegamour from here on out, and look forward to exploring the rest of their collections to see what else is on offer.
