City Color Contour Stick and Cream Highlight in Deep - Review and Swatches

City Color Cosmetics had really impressed me with their Be Matte Lipstick and Be Matter Blusher which lead me to try their other makeup as well. I picked their highlighter wand and contour stick and cream highlighter duo to try this time and today i am going to share my thoughts on City Color Contour Stick and Cream Highlight which comes in 3 shades, light, medium and deep. The light and medium shades are too brown for contouring so i opt for deep one. Let me share how it turned out.
The packaging of this duo is chubby made of plastic and is quite sturdy which makes it travel friendly. The one side have contour stick with transparent cap on it which fits tightly and doesn't come off easily. The texture of contour stick is quite thick and is extremely pigmented. A little amount is all you need to get natural contour effect but you can build it up for dramatic look.
The other side have cream highlighter in small tube with doe foot applicator. The texture of highlighter is like mousse, thick airy and extremely light weight. It is also very pigmented and and you can get subtle look with few dots on the cheek. It doesn't dry very fast but yet it is better to blend fast to get even coverage. It dries and sets in a half minute.
The color of highlighter is very light peach pearlescent and upon blending it is quite shimmery not in a bad sense but if you are fond of natural looking highlighter then it might not be for you. The best way to apply is dot it on cheeks or where you want to high light and blend quickly with stippling brush or fingers if you prefer. One other way to use liquid highlighters is to apply them beneath your foundation to get glowy look.
Coming towards the contour stick the shade is perfect for contouring on medium to dark skin. It is deep brown shade with black hint to it which is why it is more suitable to mimic shadows. So far this is the best contour shade i have got which is not too brown to look like bronzer. As it is thick creamy so i prefer to blend it with wet sponge but you can use your fingers as well but it will be hard to make it work with any brush. It is very long lasting as well even when i swatched it on my arm it was lightened but still was there at the end of the day.
Overall this duo is amazing, both shades are perfect for our Asian skin tone and are long lasting. For the price nothing can beat it.
